About Us
Exploring our Heritages: Family, Spiritual, Religious, Political, & Social
We are born into families that live at specific times and places. Exploring is a team activity that requires accurate "when, where, who, what, and how" observations, and recording the information in personal journals.
Our Story
The first event in journey that resulted in the founding of the Biblical Heritage Center, Inc. was a spiritual experience Jim Myers had in June 1980 while studying the Parable of the Great Day of Judgment in Matthew 25:31-46. He felt the call to become a minister. In August 1980, after purchasing a new Bible to take with him the Bible College where would become an ordained minister he prayed this prayer:
“Dear God, please show me what You want me to read.”
Immediately these words came to his mind:
“Unless you know how words work, you cannot understand the words in the Bible.”
From that day until now, that prayer has been a factor in Jim’s life (see below). “Teaching people how words work” is a very important part of his “calling” but his mission is now the mission of BHC is reflected in the combination of Exploring the Bible, Biblical Heritages, and Belief Systems and the new BHC Lives 1st Network.

Scholars, educators, and community builders united by a shared love of biblical heritage.
Jim Myers
Founder & President
Jim brings a diverse background to his spiritual journey, which began in 1980 and led to co-founding the Biblical Heritage Center, Inc. in 1999 with Dr. Ike Tennison. Raised in a family business focused on plants, he gained early education in botany, landscaping, marketing, and customer relations. After high school, he managed consumer loans and graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at LSU. Jim served six years in the U.S. Air Force as a surgery and radiology technician. His spiritual awakening in 1980 led to graduation from Word of Faith Bible College in 1982 and ordination as a minister. He founded the Believer’s Word Center, which became part of a global satellite network. In 1985, a pivotal book inspired Jim to research biblical language, resulting in his work, “Through Their Eyes: The Laws of Language.” He expanded his studies at the University of Texas at Arlington, focusing on biblical languages and history, and earned doctoral degrees in Biblical Linguistics and Theology from Logos Bible College. He served as Chaplain at the Johnson County Law Enforcement Center and co-founded Helping Open People’s Eyes Inc., aiding offender rehabilitation. The original purpose of Exploring the Bible was to demonstrate the disciplined methods Dr. Ike Tennison, Rabbi Jeffrey Leynor, and Jim used to translate ancient Hebrew, Greek, and Latin manuscripts — recovering the teachings of Yeshua based on linguistic models. In 1999, that research led to establishing the Biblical Heritage Center, Inc., followed later by the TOV Center, Inc.
Susan Myers
Executive Director
Many of you already know me personally and all of you know me as Jim’s wife. I am excited to have joined him fulltime at Biblical Heritage Center as the Executive Director. I was raised with my two siblings on a Polled Hereford cattle ranch in Bosque County, Texas — born on Flag Day to Jack and Mary Lou Martin. I am a very patriotic Texan and American, proud of my special birthday and my family values. I have spent the last 37 years working within the Dallas Jewish community, including my last 17 years as Executive Director of Southwest Jewish Congress. It has been my privilege to meet and work with many leaders in the DFW area, and I am honored to be considered a friend to people of many faiths, ethnicities, ages, and groups in the larger community. Jim and I are excited to launch a new BHC project — the Lives 1st Network. Thank you for your support and friendship. We are grateful for each of you.

Bob Gould
Associate
Bob Gould was born in Marion, Indiana, and moved to Hough, Arkansas at age three before making Texas his lifelong home. After facing many of life’s challenges early — including not finishing high school, becoming a father to three children by age 21, and a season of homelessness — Bob’s life changed in 1986 when a friend invited him to live with him and to attend Believers Word Center. It was there he met Jim & Susan Myers and served from 1987 to 1991 as a children’s ministry leader with his wife, Tamet. A cabinet maker and furniture maker by trade, Bob went on to found New Creations Productions in 1993, traveling the country filming barrel races. His work led to ground breaking virtual online sites, ebarrelracing.com, Equivent (entriesonline.com), and WinningRuns.com — a streaming service where barrel racers could learn from top trainers. A longtime student of the Bible, Bob created mystudybible.us to share what he is learning, a passion that has deepened through his friendship with Jim Myers. He is the father of five children and lives in Texas.
